SUMMARY: The Engineering Division staff at Olympus Drive is supported by an Office Assistant
Senior, and a Project Assistant. The person filling the OA Senior position recently resigned.The
current Project Assistant has indicated she intends to retire in 2015. The Project Assistant assists
with a number of duties not well understood outside of Engineering. Hiring a second Project
Assistant at this time will allow time for orderly succession training.
ATTACHMENTS: 1) Hiring /Promotional Justification and 2) Appendix A (Wage Schedule)
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): None. The 2014 budget includes $71,514 for an OA
Senior at the top step with longevity pay (Grade 8, Step G + 1 %.) The salary for a Project Assistant at
Step A is less than the budgeted OA Senior; therefore, labor budget is available for this position in
the 2014 budget.
