SUMMARY: The Human Resources Department has completed a desk audit on the Application
Support Analyst position (Information Services) and is recommending that the Wage Grade be
increased from 15 to 17 and that the position be reclassified from an Application Support Analyst to a
GIS /Application Support Specialist. The position is currently 9.72% below the average at the top
step base wage rate. If placed at Wage Grade 16 the position would be 4.7% below the average and
at Wage Grade 17 the position would be 0.86% above the average. In 2009 the position absorbed
responsibility for overall technical project management of the City -wide Geographic Information
System after the Engineering Technician Senior position was eliminated from the budget.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Annual cost for this Wage Grade increase is
$4,914. The increase is fully funded in the 2014 budget.
