Mr. Shepherd supported this agreement and hoped that the City would review other parks
properties and their level of use.
Mr. Maupin affirmed that the commercial value of the property far exceeds the actual use of the
property so the sale would be advantageous to the City and the Parks Department.
Ms. Robinson asked if any comments were received regarding the property sale after the last
Public Hearing. Mr. Ny~ren responded that no public comments were made at the previous public
hearing; and Mr. Mickelsen added that no calls were received by their office.
Mr. Short believed that the proceeds from the sale could benefit other parks in the City,
specifically for additional playground equipment and playgrounds for young children.
Mr. McConnell noted a discrepancy between the appraisal amount provided on the agreement
and the original appraisal amount. Neither Mr. Lubovich nor Mr. Mickelson was able to provide
any further clarification.
Mr. NYQren asked if any written comments were submitted. Mr. Mickelsen responded no.
5:41 :39 M/S/C/U (Short/Maupin) Move to approve the sale pursuant to the terms of the purchase
and sale agreement; to authorize the Mayor to execute all documents necessary to close the sale;
and to set aside the proceeds from the sale to a dedicated account for the sole purpose of
purchasing or improving park land pursuant to the National Park Service requirements and
National Park Service approval.
With no further business, the meeting of the City Council was adjourned at 5:43 P.M. The Council
