SUMMARY: This equipment purchase is for the replacement of the existing biosolids centrifuge
conveyor. The existing conveyor is extremely worn and is in need of extensive repairs. The purchase
of the new conveyor will afford us the time needed to make these repairs, and will also provide us a
spare conveyor, which will eliminate extended downtimes for repairs in the future. This is a sole
source purchase due to the age and manufacturer of the centrifuge. The cost of the new conveyor from
Andritz Bird Inc. is in the amount of $49,178.00, which includes tax and freight.
ATTACHMENTS: Aftermarket Proposal from Andritz Bird Inc.
FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This is budgeted through the WWTP/Pump
Stations-Capital Improvements Budget of $165,000.00. Bars # 594.3535.56430. The estimated labor
cost to install the new conveyor is $1,344.00 (32 man-hours).
