HomeMy WebLinkAbout2954 RESOLUTION NO. .2tr5lf A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Bremerton, Washington, establishing a hearing date for approval and confirmation of the assessments and assessment roll for Utility Local Improvement District (UUD) 2002-1. WHEREAS, the City initiated forming a Utility Local Improvement District in 2002 that provides water service to sections of the W-650 pressure zone located in the vicinity of Werner Road and south and west ofNolwood Lane; and WHEREAS, the project is now complete and the City Council desires to set a hearing date for approval and confirmation of the final assessment; NOW THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. A Public Hearing will be held on March 16,2005, at 5:30 p.m. or later at the Norm Dicks Government Center in the first floor meeting room, 345 Sixth Street, Bremerton, Washington, to take public comment or consider written objections to the confirmation of the assessments and assessment roll of Utility Local Improvement District No. 2002-1 for the construction of a 12" water distribution main. SECTION 2. All objections to the assessments and assessment roll must be submitted in writing to the City Clerk's office on or before the hearing date. SECTION 3. Severability. If anyone or more sections, subsections, or sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. This ULID is a portion of a large project known as the W -650 Pressure Zone Improvements. The total project consisted of a large water reservoir, a water pump station and approximately 15,000 feet of water pipe. The ULID portion of this project is approximately 5,300 feet of 12-inch water distribution pipe. During the hearing Engineering staff will present all final and assessment costs to each property owner within the ULID. The estimated assessment cost prior to bid was $104 per front foot. At the close of construction the estimated assessment cost will be approximately $50 per front foot. These costs are substantially less because of a good bid and there was considerably less rock and blasting than anticipated.
