HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/15/2014 8E AGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Add a Human Resources Study Session Date 01/08/2014 Generalist Position to the 2014 Budget COUNCIL MEETING Date 01/15/2014 Department Legal /HR Division Presenter Charlotte Belmore Phone 473 -5926 SUMMARY: This proposal adds a new position of Human Resources Generalist to the 2014 budget The position will be included in the Management and Professional group and be exempt from union membership The current Human Resources Assistant will be reassigned to the Human Resources Generalist position at Step 3 of Pay Band 5 The Human Resources Assistant is included in the Teamsters Bargaining Unit which precludes her from performing any duties related to bargaining This change would allow her to sit at the bargaining table as a note taker and assist the Human Resources Manager with preparation for bargaining The new position will also be crossed trained to provide backup for the Legal Department ATTACHMENTS Human Resource Generalist Job Description FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) There is sufficient capacity in the 2014 budget to cover this expense STUDY SESSION AGENDA ❑x No Presentation ❑ Full Presentation STUDY ACTION: © Consent Agenda ❑ General Business ❑ Public Hearing RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the addition of the Human Resource Generalist position to the 2014 budget and further approve the reassignment of the Human Resources Assistant to the Human Resources Generalist position at Band 5 Step 3 COUNCIL ACTION: [Approve ❑ Deny ❑ Table ❑ Continue ❑ No Action Form Updated 11/02/12
