Authorization to Hire Part -Time Employee for Department Police

SUMMARY:
The Police Department intends to temporarily fill the Court Security/ Home Detention Specialist
position between January 27, 2014 and March 03, 2014 while the full time employee is attending the
Corrections Academy The description of the position's essential functions is outlined in the City of
Bremerton Classification Specification for Court Security/ Home Detention Specialist This position is
a civilian court officer which performs a variety of duties involved in the enforcement of security for
the Municipal Court and the screening, selecting and monitoring compliance of individuals placed
into the Community Service Worker Program, Home Detention, and assists, as directed, with pre -
sentence reports The employee works under the direct supervision of the Bremerton Police Support
Division Lieutenant and work performance is reviewed through observation, meetings, timeliness of
action and results obtained

The total cost of $ 3,613 will be absorbed through the Professional Service extension line item
salary and benefits for 2014
