SUMMARY: The federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 requires that all local organizations
(governmental. tribal and not-for-profits). have an approved local mitigation plan in accordance with
44 CPR 201-6 prior to receiving Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMPG) funding. The Plan has
been updated to ensure consistency with the federal Disaster Mitigation Act 2000 and has received
federal approval.
