SUMMARY: The Insurance Benefits Committee has met with all four brokers who submitted
proposals for Insurance Brokerage Services The Insurance Benefits Committee has members from
all four bargaining units and members from the Management and Professional employees group
The Committee unanimously agreed that LBG Advisors is the brokerage company that would best be
able to assist the City in reviewing our current benefit plans and proposing options to reduce future
insurance costs to the City. This is the first time, in at least the last two decades, that we have been
able to get all bargaining units to agree to work together toward a common goal. Having members
from all bargaining units agree to working with LBG Advisors is a huge step in being able to control
future insurance costs
ATTACHMENTS: Professional Services Agreement with LBG Advisors, LLC
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) The fees are based on the current number of
employees /retirees and a sliding scale which is listed in the Professional Services Agreement With
the current number of employees and retirees being 390 25 the rate would be $24 00 per
employee /retiree per month or $112,392 annually There is sufficient capacity in the 2014 budget to
cover this expense
