SUBJECT: Interlocal Agreement Between
the City of Port Orchard and the City of
Bremerton Relating to Marine Patrol
Services
SUMMARY: The City of Port Orchard and the City of Bremerton have geographical boundaries
either bordering on or encompassing navigable waters in Kitsap County. Port Orchard has established
a marine patrol service on the waters within Port Orchard's jurisdiction. The proposed agreement
establishes a resource for the Bremerton Police Department when responding to public safety issues
occurring on these navigable waters. Additionally, it confers municipal police authority to Port
Orchard to enforce State and Bremerton law within Bremerton waters.
