SUBJECT: Purchase of two (2) hooklift
vehicle bed systems

SUMMARY: In 2002 Public Works & Utilities purchased 2 hooklift trucks. These vehicles have the
abilility to utilize different bed configurations on one chassis. In 2005 Public Works & Utilities would
like to purchase 2 more. Sole source purchase from Cascade Containers is strongly recommended to
keep uniformity in the fleet so that each of the four hooklift vehicles can utilize any of the beds. We
will be reducing the fleet size by two 1 ton trucks. Total cost ofhooklift kits and beds is $74,065.74
including sales tax.
