HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/19/2013 9C qr"- AGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Resolution No 3196 Study Session Date May 22 and June 12, to establish water efficiency goals for the 2013 City of Bremerton Water Utility COUNCIL MEETING Date June 19, 2013 Department Public Works & Utilities Presenter Kathleen Cahall Phone 473 -2315 SUMMARY The Washington State Department of Health requires water systems to establish water efficiency goals every six years at the same time the Water System Plan is being adopted Bremerton last established water efficiency goals in 2007 Washington Administrative Code 246 -290 requires that water efficiency goals describe measurable outcomes in reduced or maintained water usage, be set in a public forum providing opportunity for comments, and that City Council review the comments received City staff recommend the following goals 1) Keep water use in single family homes to an average of less than 180 gallons per day 2) Businesses provided with targeted water efficiency information will reduce their water use by 3% Between May 24 and June 10, 2013 Bremerton will solicit comments on these goals and will present to City Council study session for review The establishment of the final efficiency goals will be on June 19, 2013 ATTACHMENTS.
