A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, to repeal previous water efficiency goals
established in 2006 with Resolution No 3019 and adopt updated
water efficiency goals for the City of Bremerton Water Utility
WHEREAS, The Bremerton Water Utility and its customers have shown their
commitment to using water efficiently, and
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton previously set water efficiency goals in 2006, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to comply with Washington Administrative Code
246 -290 requiring Bremerton to establish water efficiency goals every six years as part of its
Water System Plan approval, and
WHEREAS, the City water efficiency goals must describe measurable outcomes in terms
of reduced or maintained water usage, and
WHEREAS, the City provided a public forum for water customers and the public to
participate and comment on the water efficiency goals, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered comments received, NOW
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. The following are water efficiency goals for the City of Bremerton
Water Utility
1) Maintain water use per single family residence to below 180 gallons per day on a three
year average
2) Businesses provided targeted efficiency information will reduce their water use by 3%
SECTION 2. Water efficiency goals maybe changed in accordance with
Washington Administrative Code 246 -290
SECTION 3. Severabihfy If anyone or more sections, subsections, or sentences
of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full force and
effect
