SUMMARY: There are residential tenants within the City of Bremerton living in residences that are
substandard and potentially dangerous to their health and safety. Substandard rental housing also
has a harmful effect on the value of nearby housing; and creates an environment which creates an
increased demand upon City services and thereby adversely affecting the health, safety, and welfare
of the citizens of the City of Bremerton. The proposed ordinance establishes procedures related to
the registration and inspection of rental dwelling units.
