SUMMARY: Based on an evaluation of qualified consultants, the Public Works Department is
recommending Parametrix, Inc. to provide consulting engineering services for the Washington
Avenue Sewer Improvements Project. The project includes design of residential grinder pump
stations, gravity sewers, water mains, and reconstruction of a portion of Sheldon Boulevard. The
not -to- exceed amount of the contract is $512,000. Phase 1 notice to proceed for design services in
2013 will not exceed $312,000, and Phase 2 notice to proceed for construction administration
services will not be issued until 2014.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount). The project is funded by sewer rates and has a
2013 budget of $375,000. The $196,000 in Construction Administration Services, if utilized, will be
funded in 2014 from a portion of the $3,500,000 construction budget.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Professional Services Agreement }with Parametric for the Washington Avenue
Sewer Improvements Project in the amount of $512,000.00 and authorize the Mayor to finalize and
execute the agreementwith substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
