SUMMARY: Four proposals were received in response to a request from the City for furnishing
12.5% bulk sodium hypochlorite, to the Westside WWTP. JCI Jones Chemicals, Inc. submitted the
lowest responsive proposal at $0.53 gallon/delivered, including tax: This award to JCI Jones
Chemicals, Inc. will have firm pricing for a period of one year, from the time the proposal agreement
is approved. The per gallon pricing includes all costs (freight and taxes).
ATTACHMENTS: Sodium Hypochlorite proposals from JCI Jones Chemicals, Inc., OLIN CHLOR
ALKALI, Univar USA Inc., and Northstar Chemical Inc.
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This purchase is budgeted through the WWTP
Operating Supplies Budget of $365,000.00. Bars #535.8032.53110.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the proposal to purchase bulk 12.5% sodium
hypochlonte for a period of one year from JCI Jones Chemicals Inc., at a cost of $0.053 per gallon
delivered, and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with substantially the same
terms and conditions as presented.
