HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/17/2013 6D AGENDA BILL 1 CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Bid Award to Rognlin's Inc Study Session Date April 10, 2013 for the Eastside Beach Sewer Main COUNCIL MEETING Date April 17, 2013 Replacement Project Department PW & U Presenter Chal Martin/Tom Knuckey Phone 473 -5758 SUMMARY: The work to be completed under this contract consists of installing approximately 3000 feet of 24" diameter high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe to replace the existing 20" asbestos - cement pipe located on the beach in East Bremerton The existing 20" pipe was installed in 1947 and is scheduled for replacement The existing pipe is also exposed at one location and shallow buried at other locations Accomplishing the work requires coordination with permitting agencies The contract will not be awarded until all necessary environmental permits have been issued to the City There were eight (8) bids Rognlin's Inc was the lowest responsible, responsive bidder in the amount of $878,981 25 (which includes sales tax) ATTACHMENTS: 1 Council Summary, 2 Site Plan, 3 Agreement, and 4 Bid Tabulation FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) This project is included in the 2013 Budget and is fully funded by wastewater rates The budget amount is $1,250,000 STUDY SESSION AGENDA ® No Discussion ❑ Full Presentation STUDY SESSION ACTION: © Consent Agenda ❑ General Business ❑ Public Hearing RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the bid for Eastside Beach Main Replacement from Rognlm's Inc in the amount of $878,981 25 (which includes sales tax) and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented upon receiving all necessary environmental permits COUNCIL ACTION: [Approve ❑ Deny ❑ Table ❑ Continue ❑ No Action Form Updated 11/02/12
