A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, to modify parking on Pacific Avenue
along the Downtown Post Office frontage from parallel to head -in
angle parking
WHEREAS, residents have requested, and the City identified a need for
additional on- street parking on Pacific Avenue along the Downtown Post Office frontage,
and
WHEREAS, BMC 10 04 010 adopts the Model Traffic Ordinance as set
out in the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) Chapter 308 -330, and
WHEREAS, in order to permit angle parking on a city street, WAC 308-
330- 270(4) recommends a resolution by the City after the City's Traffic Engineer has
conducted an engineering and traffic investigation, and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has conducted an engineering and traffic
investigation regarding installing head -in angle parking along the Pacific Avenue
frontage, and
WHEREAS, changing Pacific Avenue parallel parking spaces to head -in
angle parking spaces would significantly increase the amount of on- street parking spaces
on Pacific Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that modifying Pacific Avenue along the
Downtown Post Office frontage to be nose -in angle parking increases available public parking
spaces on Pacific Avenue, NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. Head -in angle parking on Pacific Avenue along the Downtown
Post Office frontage shall be created as determined by the City Engineer and consistent with the
City Engineer's engineering and traffic investigation
SECTION2. The Public Works and Utilities Department may temporarily close
any part or all of Pacific Avenue to traffic during construction as deemed necessary
SECTION 3. Severability If anyone or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect

SECTION4. Effective Date This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage
