SUMMARY. Ordinance 5089 was passed in 2009 to formally adopt Public Defense Standards On
June 15, 2012, the Supreme Court issued New Standards for Indigent Defense and Certification
Compliance These new standards were taken into consideration when the new public defense
contract was entered into in November 2012 Bremerton is currently in compliance with these new
standards Ordinance 5089 is being repealed and the new standards are being adopted by
resolution
