SUBJECT: Agreement with Parametnx for Study Session Date January 23, 2013 Pacific Avenue Final Design COUNCIL MEETING Date February 6, 2013 Department PW &U Engineering Presenter Gunnar Frndrnksson Phone 473 -2354 SUMMARY: Modifications to the plans and specifications for the Pacific Avenue 6th to 11th Street Project are necessary to address several cost reduction issues The original design was completed by Parametnx, Inc, however, their contract expired before these revisions were completed The requested action is approval of a contract with Parametnx for $75,497 00 to complete the design for the Pacific Avenue 6th to 11th street project The contract instrument will be a standard Local Agency Agreement per WSDOT Local Agency Guidelines ATTACHMENTS: 1 Scope of Work & Schedule 2 Budget FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) The current project as designed is not constructible with available funding The revisions are necessary and will allow the project to move forward These revisions will also allow for monies to be reallocated from construction to design to cover costs Current project funding is from a Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) grant for $3,000,000, with a City match of $468,208 The City match is coming from the utility work included with the project STUDY SESSION AGENDA © No Discussion ❑ Full Presentation STUDY SESSION ACTION © Consent Agenda ❑ General Business ❑ Public Hearing RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the agreement with Parametrx in the amount of $75,497 and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the contract subject to approval by the City Attorney with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented COUNCIL ACTION: M / Approve ❑ Deny ❑ Table ❑ Continue ❑ No Action Form Updated 11/02/12
