SUMMARY. The City has completed remedial construction as required under Agreed Order DE-
07TCPHQ -5024 at the former Chevron property The cleanup construction was completed in two
phases with infection of a chemical oxidizing agent being the primary removal method in the lower
yard Per the terms of the order, the City is committed to on -going groundwater monitoring until
contamination levels drop to MTCA A levels — for planning purposes this is estimated to be achieved
in 5 -years The requested action is modification of the consultant contract to perform groundwater
monitoring and reporting to Ecology over a 5 -year term

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) The 2012 budget is $80,000 and the 2013
requested budget is $30,000 Projected 2013 expenditures will exceed the budget, therefore, a mid-
year budget adjustment is anticipated

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve Contract Modification No 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with
Parametnx, Inc, in the amount of $225,256 (including sales tax) and authorize the Mayor to finalize
and execute the document with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented
