SUMMARY: Kitsap County maintains a juvenile detention facility The proposed Interlocal
Agreement provides for the detention of juveniles within the Bremerton Municipal Court's jurisdiction
ATTACHMENTS: Interlocal Agreement Between Kitsap County and City of Bremerton Provision for
Juvenile Detention Facilities
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) The attached calls for payment of $80 per fail day
Fiscal impact would be dependent on the volume of juvenile offenders sentenced to fail time
Historical volumes have been low (between five to twenty per year) so fiscal impact would be minimal
and would be paid from the fail budget

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Interlocal Agreement with Kitsap County relating to the provision of juvenile
detention facilities and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with substantially
the same terms and conditions as presented
