A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, adopting the Cross -SKIA (South Kitsap
Industrial Area) Connector Corridor Plan
WHEREAS, SKIA is designated as one of eight Manufacturing/Industrial Centers in the
Puget Sound Regional Council's (PSRC) Vision 2040 regional growth strategy, and
WHEREAS, SKIA will retain a different urban environment than Bremerton's current
regional or district centers, particularly due to the expected industrial development to occur in the
next 20 years, and
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton has passed Ordinance No 5188 adopting a subarea
plan for SKIA pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 36 70A RCW and involved the community
in its preparation, and
WHEREAS, the development of SKIA will create a transportation demand for a
connector roadway through the site, and
WHEREAS, the City and Port of Bremerton have undertaken an extensive public
participation process by conducting Project Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings, workshops,
and public open houses between November 2010 and June 2012 to discuss the SKIA Connector
alignment and cross - section to gather public input, and guide the development of the plan, and
WHEREAS, the PAC consisted of mayor SKIA landowners and representatives from the
Port of Bremerton, City of Bremerton, Kitsap County, City of Port Orchard, and Washington
State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), and
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION]. The City of Bremerton hereby adopts the Cross -SKIA Connector
Corridor Plan dated March of 2012, attached hereto as Exhibit A
SECTION 2. Severabr&ty If any one or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect
SECTION 3. Effective Date This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
