SUMMARY: Sealed bids for construction of the project titled "Kiwams Park and Green Streets
Project" were opened on May 14, 2012 The engineer's estimate for this project is $956,086 Three
bids were received for this project South Bay Excavating was the lowest responsive, responsible
bidder with a bid of $1,041,300 75 (including sales tax) The bid total excludes Sch A Alternates 1 -2
and Sch B Alternates 3 and 5

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to award a contract in the amount of $1,041,300 75 (including
sales tax) with South Bay Excavating for construction of the project titled "Kiwams Park and Green
Streets Project" and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the necessary documents for
construction
