SUMMARY: Several years ago the City standardized on Microsoft Office 2003 for its desktop
software applications That product was first superseded by Microsoft Office 2007 and more recently
by Microsoft Office 2010 We are experiencing an increasing number of incompatibilities between
our version of the software and the versions used by companies and individuals attempting to
communicate and /or do business with the City Further there is an improved feature set with the new
software that we are unable to use to our advantage The purchase would be under the terms and
pricing of the State of Washington Master Licensing Agreement with Microsoft

Move to approve the purchase of 280 Microsoft Office 2010 Standard Edition licenses under the
terms and pricing of the Washington State Master Licensing Agreement with Microsoft and authorize
the Mayor to finalize and execute the purchase with substantially the same terms and conditions as
presented
