SUMMARY: The Utilities department has an applicator truck for the biosolids program It is a 2001
International 2674 with a spreader bed attached The bed is in dire need of repair which will involve a
complete rebuild The bed that is presently mounted is a custom bed specifically designed for
spreading The material that it spreads is very caustic to metal and repairing the existing bed is no
longer an option The style of bed that is on the chassis is no longer available so we will have to
contract a company to build us one The company we wish to use is The Fab Shop of Edgewood,
WA at a cost of $145,537 37 including Washington state sales tax We are requesting a sole source
purchase since this is the only company in western Washington that can do this type of work
