A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, approving and authorizing sole source
purchase to repair and rebuild a biosolid's applicator truck body
WHEREAS, BMC 2 76 040 establishes bidding procedures for the purchase of
goods and services, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to BMC 2 76 090, the request for bids requirement may be
waived by written determination by the Director that either the materials, supplies, equipment or
services are clearly and legitimately limited to a single source of supply, or that materials,
supplies, equipment or services are subject to special market conditions, involve special facilities
or services, or that a bid would not be otherwise practical or in the City's best interests under the
circumstances, in which instances the purchase price may be best established by direct
negotiation, and
WHEREAS, there in only one company in Western Washington that can perform
the work being requested therefore it has been determined that sole sourcing with The Fab Shop
is in the City's best interests, and
WHEREAS, sole sourcing with The Fab Shop allows the City to enter into direct
negotiations for pricing with the vendor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the sole source purchase to
repair and rebuild a biosolids applicator truck body, NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION]. The recitals set forth above are hereby incorporated as if set forth
herein in full
SECTION 2 Pursuant to BMC 2 76 090 and BMC 2 76 100, the request for bids
requirement are hereby waived and the Department of Public Works & Utilities is authorized to
enter into a sole source purchase with The Fab Shop in the amount of $145,537 37, including
sales tax, to repair and rebuild a biosolids applicator truck body
SECTION 3. Severabahty If any one or more sections, subsections, or sentences
of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full force and
effect

SECTION 4. ffective Date This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage
