SUMMARY: Adoption of a complete streets ordinance will allow the City to be competitive in
pursuing federal funding for street improvements A complete streets ordinance allows for the design
of a shared roadway space to include transit, bicyclists, pedestrians and disabled persons whenever
practical The addition of all modes of transportation to the road system provides traveling and
recreational opportunities that contribute to a healthier community

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) There are no fiscal impacts at this time This
ordinance is a policy guidance mechanism Fiscal impacts would be assessed when a specific
project is developed and designed based on the scope of the project and the individual elements
associated with that project
