SUMMARY: The ductile iron section of the Crosstown sewer pipeline between Naval Avenue and
Montgomery Avenue (approximately 3000 feet) must be replaced due to multiple failures of the pipe
The contract consists of three mayor components installation of approximately 2400 feet of 36 -inch
diameter high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, rehabilitation of 866 feet of existing 30 -inch ductile
iron pipe using Cure -in -Place -Pipe (CIPP) technology, and replacement of the existing concrete
surge chamber at the intersection of 13 Street and Naval Avenue with an HDPE manhole
Five (5) bids were submitted Stan Palmer Construction was the lowest responsible, responsive
bidder in the amount of $2,356,617 83, which includes sales tax

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) This project is fully funded $3,400,000 has been
included in the 2012 Budget for this project

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the bid for Crosstown Pipeline Upper Reach Repair and authorize the Mayor to
finalize and execute the agreement with Stan Palmer Construction in the amount of $2,356,617 83,
which includes sales tax, with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented
