SUMMARY: Approval of KPS 2012 Rates and Underwriting Criteria and authorization of formal
execution of the 2012 contracts between the City and KPS Health Plans for employee group health
insurance coverage by the Mayor The new rates,which were negotiated on our behalf by our
benefits consultants, Willis of Seattle, reflect an 5% rate increase above 2011 levels
ATTACHMENTS: KPS 2012 Premium Rates & Underwnting Criteria
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) The 2012 Budget has adequate budgeted funds in
personnel benefits for this rate increase
