The label on the drawing should be Phase 2 Q- Sheet C6.0 - Size of plant materiallabeled as "Blue Fescue" and "Alaska Ferns". A - (1 allon) Q- Spacing of "Blue Fescue" and "Alaska Ferns" within planting beds in order to determine quantity needed. Plan sheets indicate 15 Blue Fescue per planter and 10 Alaska Fenas per planter, but all planters ate not of equal size nor do all cotain a specimen tree. A-(15 Blue Fescae and 10 Alaskan Ferns are an average for the planters. Larger planters will require more, small planters less. The total would equal the number of planters times 15 and 10.) Q- Are there any specifications in regards to the planting materials: bazk mulch, Topsoil Type A, rootbarrier? A-(Seccion detail will be added.) Q- What are the maintenance requuements? A-(one year watranty on trees) Q- Shee# C8.0 - Hanging Baskets Are these to be provide,cl by the City of Bremerton or the contractor? If provided by the coirtractor, please provide specification for baskets. i . , y . \ A-(These are provided by the City.) Q- Can you telI me if there is electrical on this project that bids October I7', 2Q11? If so, please tell me a brief summary of what it entails. A- The electrical work includes; i) Illumination to include conduit, wiring, poles, junction boxes. ii} Traffic loops iii) Connection to existing to existing service ca6inet and relocation of existing service cahinet Q. Are the light poles, luminaires, and anchor boits be provided by the Contractor or are atl of these items City fumished? A. All are provided by the contractor. 4: Sheet C6.0 does not iderrtify an irrigation controller. Is the new irrigafion sysfiem tymg into an existing ctrollert ff so, where is the existirtg controller located and are there spare wires stubbed for the improvemerts to Park Ave? If not what type ofi coMroller is to be provided, where is it to be installed and what or where is the power source? A: Contractor is to design the irngation system/controller. The location and power supply are to be coordinated with the City 4: Secfion 1.05 of the Form of Proposal says that the work wdl be substanGally comple#e within 140 calendar days of notice to proceed. The Public Works Agreement says, under 7ime of Completion, that the cortractor shall complete the work within 21 calendar days. Please clarify what the Public Works Agreement section is fior. A: It is 140 days. T'fie updated documents on the Ciiy's Wedsite have this correted. 1: Do you have any depths of existing sidewaiks or pavement? Are there exisng concrete panels wthin the roadway excavation lirnits? A: No we do not have depths of existing sidewalks or pavement, assume ci#y standard for Asphat# pavement (Standard Drannng 3004} We are unsure of concrete panets along Par1c Ave, there appears to be some along 4"' St. Exact location/extents ar depth, corrtractor to field verify Q: Since the granibe detail at the intersection is alternate No.1, can you provide a detail of what base bid (brick paversj will look like? A: Need carification of the question. It is our understanding that the plan we show is the base bid with brick pavers and a granite circular graphic in the center of the irrtersection, the section for pavers is similar to the crosswalk detail and is shown on C8.0. The granite section is shown on C3.0. It is our undersfianding that the altemate bid is to replace the pavers in the intersection with granite slabs which would have the same secction as shown on C3.0. Q: Plan sheet C7.0 seation A A says light pole by others. In the Quesfion and Answers is states that illumination to include conduit, wirng, poies, junction boxes. Are the poles provided by the City? A: The pole is to be provided by the contractor and installe by the contractor, the note was unintentionally left on the detail. Q: What is the de#ail for trench restoration fior the storm at the intersection of 4th and Park, since most of the new storm tines are outside of the demo limi#s? A: Cty of Bremerton Startdard Drawing 4080 4081 Q: Are the light poles, luminaires, and anchor bo[ts be provided by the Contractor or are all of these items City tumished? - i• / . . . . , ;. ' : These are to be provided by tte crtractor. Q: Wili the PSE Svitch Vautts that are to be adjusted to final grade require concrete risers and d so wilt PSE be providing these? A: The cortracor is to field verriy what is needed to adjust to grade and coordinate with PSE. If risers are required, the contractor is to provide. Q: What is the section detail of the Pavers at the intersection of 4' and Park Ave? I A: The paver section is simdar to the crosswaEk section and is shawn on C8.0. Q: Are there any special provisions to the speccations that give specfics regarding the materials and methods of conson A: Per General Alotes on C1.Q the project is to follow WVSDOT City of Bremerton Plans & Specfications, the only special provision is for the use of mortar in the granite section and e City is to provide the special provision. Is there a specific material that is in queson? Please clarify. Q: There is no mention on the plans or in the specificafions regarding the backfill materia! for the new storm system. Is native mafierial to be used or is import required? If imported material is required what are the specifications for that material? A: Use Ciiy of Bremerton Standard Drawing 4080 & 4081. Q: 4n Sheets C2.0 C3.0 the plans indicate new concrete curb and gutter on the outside of the intersechons that tie into the existing curb and gutter. In ocder to i .. :I. r r> i instalf this curb and gutter on the radius' it wdl be necessary to remove a portion on the existing asphatE paving to set the forms That in tum wdt require patching of the existing pavement and there is nothing on the plans to show what type of section to use. It also appears that the existing pavement on 4' SVeet is possibly ari asphait over concrete pavement section so there could be two types of sections required. How much (thickness) of asphaft, crushed rodc, and or concrete wdl be required to patch these areas? Sinoe there is no infiormation regarding the exis6ng pavement there is no way to bid "match exisfing". A: For the pavement patching/replacemerrt use the standard pavement section on the City of Bremerton Standard Drawing 3004. If concrete panels are encountered in the roadway, patch using Standard Drawing 3004. °Match Exisng" is referring to the locon and grade. Q: On Sheet C3.0 there are 4 notes that reference °TOP OF RAMP°. There is no note to indicate whether the ramp is asphaft or concrete pavement. Could you tell us which type of pavement it is and the sectional tickness? A: The ramp is to be a 12° deep 4000 psi concre#e ramp with 4" of'/" —'! %° clean crushed gravel base. A detail has been attached at the end of quesdons Q: Is there any crushed base material that goes under the 4" scored ooncrete sidewalk? If so how much? A: Use Ci/ of Bremerton Standarc! It is the contradors option to price al! altemates and unit prices as they decide to tender their bid. However we r+equest that altemate pricing be based on the pncing provided in base bid numbers. t: Is the granite in the aftemate bid area sand set or mortar set? A: Mortar set. Q: What kind of mortar should be used for #he setting bed under the granite There is not anything specfied. A: City to provide special provision. Q: What is the specfication for he non woven geotextite under the sand set pavers? 4: Use WISDOT specfcations, Sechon 93, for underground drainage.
