SUMMARY: BMC Chapter 2 05, Section 2 05 020 (a) and Chapter 2 50, Section 2 50 032 (a)
requires Council confirmation for the appointment of a Department Director Council confirmation is
requested to hire Katrina Allen as Director of Public Works & Utilities Mrs Allen's career spans 34
years in the public sector including nine years as the Public Works Director and City Engineer for the
City of San Jose, California, and 4 years as the Dierctor of Engineering Services and City Engineer
for the City of Spokane, WA, 1 year as Waste Water Management — Associate Engineer for the City
of Spokane, WA, and 20 years as a Water and Hydro - Electric Services — Engineer Technician for the
City of Spokane WA She holds a Masters in Public Administration from Eastern Washington
University, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Gonzaga University, and a Bacheor of
Arts in Math and Economics from Eastern Washington University She has a WA State Professional
Engineer License, WA State Water Manager Class IV Certification, and a WA State Waste Water
Class it Certification
