SUMMARY: The state has an ongoing construction project to replace the Manette Bridge The City
requested changes to the Manette Bridge Replacement Project to add a barrier on the new bridge
between the shoulder of vehicle lanes and the sidewalk for additional safety for pedestrians The
state has agreed to modify the project, in conjunction with state initiated changes, to add the safety
barrier in return for the City's payment to the State of $75,000 towards the cost of the added sidewalk
barrier

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) The $75,000 would be paid from the Arterial Street
Fund Adjustments will need to be made within the Arterial Street Fund, however the overall fund will
not need a budget amendment

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move t approve payment of $75,000 to the State of Washington for
modifications to the Manette Bridge Replacement Project for the added sidewalk barrier and
authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with substantially the same terms and
conditions as presented
