SUMMARY: In completing survey work for the Mataan Park redevelopment, the Engineering
Division's total station instrument was struck and destroyed by a passing car on Olympic
Avenue Engineering is currently using a rental instrument from Kuker - Ranken, Inc which is
the equivalent of what was destroyed, while financial issues were being resolved Kuker-
Ranken is willing to sell the City the rental gun for $26,608 09 and subtract the last 6 week
rental charges against the cost for a total of $23,912 63

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) The cost of the Survey equipment will paid from
utility funds as follows Water Fund — 35% of total cost, Wastewater Fund — 35% of total
cost, and Stormwater Fund — 30% of total cost This cost split approximates the use of the
equipment The dollars needed for purchase shall be absorbed within existing program
budget authority, but will require budget adjustment at the end of the year to adjust the line
items to reflect this reallocation Recovery efforts are ongoing in cooperation with risk
management, but costs are unlikely to be realized in the near future
