RESOLUTION NO. 3150
A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, changing the name of two remnant
portions of Arsenal Way to Russell Road and Shorewood Drive
WHEREAS, the State of Washington, in constructing State Route 3, divided
Arsenal Way into two separate roadways, and
WHEREAS, the redevelopment of Westpark has removed and relocated roadways
to provide more appropriate development of the site,
WHEREAS, as a consequence of these events, Russell Road now connects into
Arsenal Way at no discernable intersection creating confusion for the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the portion of Arsenal Way off of Kitsap Way does not connect to
the remainder of the roadway and is now a dead end street, and
WHEREAS, to eliminate this confusion, it is recommended that the remnant
portions of Arsenal Way be renamed, and
WHEREAS, City staff has contacted and received approval from all outside
agencies concerned with street name changes, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION]. Name Change The name of the City street Arsenal Way from
Oyster Bay Avenue to Russell Road is hereby changed to Russell Road and the name of the City
street Arsenal Way from Kitsap Way to the dead end against State Route 3 is hereby changed to
Shorewood Drive as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference
SECTION Z Severability If any one or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect
SECTION 3. E fective Date This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
