RELEASE OF EASEMENT
WHEREAS, The GRANTOR, State of Washington, Department of Social and Health
Services, granted an easement to the GRANTEE, Bremerton School District and/or the City of
Bremerton on February 1, 1980, and recorded by the Krtsap County Auditor on February 13,
1980, Recording #8002140035.
WHEREAS, the easement is for recreational and athletic sports use upon the following described
property in Kitsap County.
A portion of the East %2 of the SW' /4 of the SW %4 of the SE %4 of Section 15, T24N, RI E, W.M. ,
described as follows:
Beginning at the S %4 corner of Section 15, T24N, RI E, W.M ; thence N 1 °22' 19" E, 667 68 ft.
along the center section line to the NW Corner of the SW 1 /4 of the SW %4 of the SE %a, thence S
88 0 56'05" E, 331.84 feet to the NW Comer of the East %2 of said SW Y4 and the true point of
beginning;
Thence continuing along the north line of said SW %4, S 88 °56'05" E, 104 87 Ft, thence S
8 0 39'09" W 479.44 ft; thence N 88 0 56'05" W, 44 18 ft., thence N 1 °22'47" E, 475.25 ft to the
true point of beginning
WHEREAS, the easement states: "In the event that said property is no longer used by the
GRANTEE for recreational and athletic sports use, then this easement covering the above
described property shall immediately and without need for reconveyance or any other action
automatically revert to the GRANTOR"
WHEREAS, the GRANTEE is no longer using the easement property for recreational and
athletic use
NOW, THEREFORE, the GRANTEE hereby releases to the GRANTOR, their heirs and assigns,
all interest in the easement recorded by the Kitsap County Auditor, Recording #8002140035.
The release shall be effective 30 days from date of signature by GRANTEE

Re Easement at Frances Haddon Morgan Center (DSHS # 8077 - 58750)
Dear Mr Birkenthal `
I have recently discussed the above - referenced easement for property at the Frances Haddon
Morgan Center Campus (FHMC) with Mike Westby and Ken Bagwell The easement is for
recreational and athletic sports use in the area designated in the enclosed drawing A copy of the
easement is also enclosed for your reference
My understanding is the City and the Bremerton School District no longer use the easement
property We request the City release DSHS from the easement The Bremerton School District
released their interest in the easement on December 17, 2009 Mike mentioned you would be out
of the office during the holidays I will be leaving DSHS as of January 14th, so wanted to follow up
and ask if you could review our request pnor to my departure

SUMMARY: The State of Washington has re that Bremerton release its interest in a
recreational and athletic easement on the southeast portion of the Frances Haddon Morgan Center
property in the vicinity of Forest Ridge Park Thaeasement was granted by the State of Washington to
both the Bremerton School District and the C and to date has not been used by either party
The Bremerton School District released its interest m this easement in December of 2009
On December 10 the Bremerton Parks Commission voted (6 in favor, 1 opposed) to recommend
vacation the easement
