SUMMARY: The Public Works and Utilities Department applied for a Washington Transportation
Improvement Board Grant for $1,368,084 to reconstruct Lower Wheaton Way from the Manette
Bridge to Lebo Boulevard The rehabilitated street would include new sidewalks, curb, gutter and
pavement The project is intended to meet the grant requirements of enhancing non- motonzed
transportation use between urban activity centers, as well as incorporate sustainable or "green"
infrastructure development such as low impact development techniques

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount) The protect is budgeted at $1,710,135 This
project will require a budget amendment, which will be presented through a separate agenda bill, to
accommodate the $342,051 required match The match is anticipated to be funded from the Arterial
Street Fund 101 for $237,271 and from the Stormwater Utility Fund 481 for $104,780

Move to approve the acceptance of the Grant from the Washington Transportation Improvement
Board to reconstruct a portion of Lower Wheaton Way and authorize the Mayor to sign the Fuel Tax
Grant Distribution Agreement and Project Funding Status Form with substantially the same terns and
conditions as presented
