SUMMARY: In June, 2008 the City executed an mterlocal agreement recognizing Kitsap County as
lead planning authority for Solid and Hazardous Waste programs within its ,jurisdiction Kitsap
County prepared an updated Comprehensive Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Plan - the
purpose of the Plan is to develop strategies for better management of solid and moderate risk wastes
through 2015 RCW 70 95 and 70 105 require each local government to have an approved
Comprehensive Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Plan in place, adoption of the plan by
Bremerton is necessary for County Compliance with the RCW The requested action before Council
is approval of Resolution No 313 t0 adopting the Kitsap County Comprehensive Solid and
Hazardous Waste Management Plan
