EXAMINATION AGREEMENT
This Agreement is entered into by and between Bremerton Ftre Deparhnent
(hereinafter "Fire Department") and Bates Techmcal College (hereinafter
"Bates") This 31 st day of January, 2011
RECITALS
A Fire Department desires to examme personnel for entry level Firefighter,
and Paramedic positions, with its department
B. Bates is willmg to assume responsibility for the conduct of the
exammation for the consideration hereinafter set forth
AGREEMENT
This Agreement shall commence January 31, 2011 and termmate on
January 31, 2012
2 Fire Department shall provide Bates wrth participatmg agency mformation
for its purposes of hinng Fire Department shall provide the date or dates
upon wluch exammation will be given.
3 Bates will provide application packets, score sheets, study mformation and
examinations, all advertismg, test location, adequate personnel to handout
applications and admmister the examinahon Upon completion of sconng
Bates will provide a pass list and Bates will nohfy all applicants of the
examinahon results Bates will mamtain and keep a current list of the
names and addresses of all applicants
4 Bates will prov�de the necessary arrangements for applicants that require
special accommodations
5 The application fee will be $75 00 for the wntten test and $99 00 for the
CPAT under this contract Bates will collect all application fees The
Departments and Districts shall be responsible for any costs exceeding the
application fees collected by Bates. These costs if mcurred shall be equally
distributed between participating Fire Departments and Districts
6 Bates agrees to waive any and all fees for mdigent applicants upon
venfication of mdigence by the Fire Department.

7 No alteration of vanation to the terms of tlus Agreement shall be valid
unless made in writmg and signed by the parties involved. This Agreement
contams the complete agreement of parties and no oral understandmg of
variahon of terms exists between the parties
8 The parties agree that with respect to any claim, cause of action or suit
ansing out of the activities descnbed in this Agreement, each party shall
be liable only for the acts or omissions of it's agents, officers and
employees Each party shall mdemmfy the other for claims by tlurd
parties ansmg out of the negligence of the mdemmtor's officers, agents,
and employees achng m the scope of their duties In the event of
allegations of concurrent negligence, each party will bear rts own defense
costs and its proportionate share of liability based on its percentage of
neghgence causmg the hability
