SUBJECT: LMN Architects for Park Committee Meeting Date 02/23/2011
Avenue Plaza Phase II architectural services COUNCIL MEETING Date 03/02/2011
Department Executive
Presenter Gary Sexton
Phone- 360 -981 -1025
SUMMARY: After the receipt and review of 3 solicited bids, it is recommended that the
architectural contract be accepted and awarded to LMN Architects for Park Avenue Plaza Phase II
professional architectural services
ATTACHMENTS: Professional Services Agreement
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount)- The attached contract is for work not to exceed`
$85,000 and will be charged on an hourly basis Because of timeframes involved, staff is
recommending that council approve both the attached contract along with staff authority for potential
change orders for an additional $55,000, for a total potential contract of $140,000 The additional
scope of $55,000 is not included in the original contract as this work may not be needed as the original
contract is executed If the additional work is needed, staff wanted the opportunity for proper
justification from the contractor prior to approval for the work Withholding this additional scope
amount allows staff to exercise greater contract accountability The contract is funded from the federal
Economic Development Administration grant 07 -01- 06590, the Bond Fund and a portion of the sale
proceeds of the West Sound Bank Building as stipulated by the State of Washington Capital
Development Grant (administered by CTED, contract #08- 96105 -014)
