A RESOLUTION of the Crty Council of the Crty
of Bremerton, Washmgton, supporting an application to the
Waslungton State Department of Correchons for the srtmg
of a Westside Reception Center wrtlun the Criy of
Bremerton
WHEREAS the Waslungton State Legislature authonzed the srtmg and
construction of the Westside Reception Center m Engrossed Substrtute House Bi112836,
and
WHEREAS the Puget Sound Regional Council and Krtsap Regional
Coordinating Council have recogruzed the South Krtsap Industnal Center (SKIA) as a
Manufactunng / Industnal Center
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton has a proud and long lustory
supporting and housmg armed services and law enforcement personnel, NOW
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1 The City of Bremerton is committed to providmg all
requested srte mformation to the Waslungton State Department of Conections by January
21 S `, 2011 and fully participate m the ongomg srte selechon process
SECTION 2. The City of Bremerton is committed to providmg a
thorough public outreach process with rts cihzens dunng the srte selection and permittmg
process consistent with state law for srtmg essential public facilrties
SECTION 3. The CiTy of Bremerton commrts to provide and/or
coordmate with other agencies to provide the necessary utilrties and pubhc safety services
to the site to meet the Washington State Department of Correction's needs for the
Westside Processmg Center
SECTION 4 Severabzlrtv If any one or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of tlus Resolution are held to be unconstrtutional or mvalid, such decision shall
not affect the validrty of the remammg portion of this Resolution and the same shall
remam m full force and effect
SECTION S. �fectave Date This Resolution shall take effect and be m
force immediately upon its passage
