SUMMARY. The Public Works Department budgeted $25,000 during 2010 for downtown traffic
circulation planning. Specific issues to be addressed include changes to Washington Avenue and 4'
Street, as well as implementation of pedestrian/bicycle access enhancement provisions, and
identification of additional on street parking opportunities. Alternatives have been presented and
discussed with business owners and the public. Initially the Green Option was deemed to be preferred
by the majority of the general public written comments that were received. Modest modifications
have been made to the Green option in an attempt to incorporate the varying requests and opinions
presented during the many discussions that were held concerning this project.
