HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/12/1916 RESOLUTION BE IT RES0LVIM BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRTAJ'MTON: 1. That.the public interest requires the following improvement to be made. 2. That it is the intention of the City Council of.the City of Bremerton to order the improvement of gashington Avenue on the east margin thereof, as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of tvashington Avenue and Sixth Street, thence south 60.12 feet to the South- east corner of Washington Avenue and Sixth Street thence South along the east margin of ldashington Avenue abutting Lots 19, 18, 17, 16 and the North 2 of Lot 15, Block 110. 4 of the original plat-of Bremerton, Kitsap County, Washington, and declare that said local improvement is of such a character that the srecial benefits resulting therefrom, which extends beyond the boundary of a Local Improvement District as defined.by Chapter 98 Session'Laws of 1911, and opeating an enlarged district, including as near as may be, all the property specially benefited by such improvement as hereinafter more par - tiuularly described and specifying and describing the boundaries of such an enlarged district, specifying the amount of the costs and expenses of sue improvement to be assessed against the property within such enlarged dist- rict by erecting and constructing a reinforced concrete retaining wall, also a concrete sidewalk, together with gutters along with the necessary filling in, and other work to finish hhme in a good and workmanlike manner, and the doing of such other work as may be found proper, convenient and necessary for the completion of said improvement, in accordance with plans and specifications prepared, or which may hereafter be prepared, and on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Bremerton. 3. That the said enlarged district hereby created is described as follows: Commencing at the N.E.corher of Lot 4, Block 1, Bayview Addition to the City of Bremerton, thence South 61° 15' :Vest, along the U. S. meander line to the intersection of the meander line with the East margin of Pacific Ave: thence South along the East margin of Pacific Ave., to the N.V1. corner of Lot 5, Blk. 3, of Bayview Add., to the City of Bremerton: thence East along the South margin of IYTill Street 82.75 ft.: thence in a South - westerly 1. <. direction along the South and „'est margin of Pleasant Ave., to the II.E.corner of Lot 1, Pleasant Ave.,Addition; thence South along the south margin of Pleasant Ave., to the S.E. corner of Lot 6 Pleasant Ave., Add.; thence South 30 That to the S.W corner of 9th Street.and Pleasant Ave.; thence East 40.00 ft. to the S.E. corner of 9th Street and Pleasant Ave; thence East 71.50 feet, thence South 175.70 feet; thence East 33.00 feet; thence South 100.00 feet; thence {hest 2.50 feet; thence South to the center line of alley in Blk. No. 4, Coder's Add.; thence South along the center line of alley through B1k.4 and 5, Coder's Add; thence south along the center line of Blk. 1, Benbennick's Add., to a point 102.50 feet, West.of the West margin of Highland Ave; thence South parallel to the West margin of Highland Ave., to a point 102.50 feet, West of N.W. corner 6th Street and High- land Ave; thence South to the 11.14. corner of Lot 35, Blk. 5 of the original Town of Bremerton; thence along the Jest margin of Lot 35 and 13, Blk. 5, of the original Town of Bremerton; thence South to the N.W. corner of Lot 31, Blk. 6, of the original Town of Bremerton; thence south along the West line of Lot 31 and 13 Blk. 6, of the original Town of Bremerton; thence South to the N.V1. corner of Lot 27, of the original town of Bremerton; thence south along the West margin of Lots 27 and 13, Blk. Ito. 7, of the original Town of Bremerton; thence East along the Forth margin of Burwell Ave. 92.34 feet; thence in a southeasterly direction 14.00 feet to the S.W. corner of Lot 16, Block Ito. 7, of the original Town of Bremerton; thence Southeasterly along the south margin of Lot 16, Blk. 7, of the original Town of Bremerton 100.90 feet to the N. W. corner of 1 7ashington & Burwell; thence in a south - easterly direction to the S.W. corner of Lot 11, Blk. 3, of the original Town of Bremerton; thence along the South line of Lot 11, Blk. 3, of the original Town of Bremerton 100.00 feet; thence in a south - easterly direction along the south margin of Lot 11, Blk. 3, of the original Town of Bremerton, produced to the inner harbor line; thence in a north- easterly, north and north- westerly direction following the inner harbor line to the point of beginning, all of which said property included with the boundaries and termini of above description are hereby declared to be specially benefited by such improvement, which said enlarged district is hereby created for the pur- pose of pairing the sum of the costs and expenses of such improvement. 4. That the estimated amount of the costs and expenses of such improvement to be assessed against that portion of the property within such enlarged district lying }etween the termini of-the proposed improvement and extending back from the marginal lines thereof is Six Thousand Dollars (Y�6,000.00) of which amount :2,400.00 shall be assessed to the property abutting upon improvement, and the balance to -wit: The sum of :3,600.00 shall be distributed and assessed against all the property included in the remainder of such enlarged district in accord. ance with the special benefits accruing thereto. 2 . 5. That all persons who may desire to object thereto are hereby notified to appear and present such objections to the City Council to be held on :.Monday, July 24, 1916, in the City Hall of the City of Bremerton at 8 :00 P. Iii. or at such other time as the same may be adjourned, which time and place is hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement and all objections thereto, and to de- termine the method of payment of said improvement. 6. That the City Engineer shall submit to the City Council, at or prior to said date, all data and information required by law to be submitted. 7. That the entire cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed against the property liable therefor, as pro- vided by law, except as herein otherwise provided.
