L //: ) WHEREAS, the CLty of Bremerton ov-ne, maintains and operates it's own water system in said city and from said system distributes waster to consumers living in the City of Charleston and outside the limits of both corporation under the authority of stetute8 made and provided therefor, and under the authority of a franchise from said city of Charleston. AND VII lialEAS, the said city of Bremerton has maintained a place in the city of Charleston where consumers living in said city' may pay their water bill between the lot and 14th of every month, and it is found that the majority of the consumers living in the city of Charleston pay their welter bill in the city, hall in Bremer- ton and that the coat .end. trouble in maintaining a collecting office in the city of Charleston dove not justify the further continuance of said office, and it is further found that the city hell at Brem- erton, where the headquarters of said water system is located and where the city maintains it's collecting office and books and records for said purpose, is not to exceed two miles from the furthereet point of the city of Charleston. AND WILEREAS, it le the sense of this commission that the collecting office in the city of Charleston should be discontinued and that all consumers of the water eystem of the oity of Bremerton, should pay their water bill at the city hall in said citz of Bremerton TB.EP,::'ORE BE IT BESOLVi D, That than said collecting office in the city of Cher1©eton be discontinued and that all consumers of cater from the water system of the city of Bremerton, be required to peg their water bill et the city hall in the city of Bremerton. That a Notice to that effeot, together with as rule and regulation covering this shall be filed, with the Board of Public works of the State of Washington, to the end that said rule and regulation be adopted and approved by said Board of 'ublic V,orks in the regular course, as provided by law, and at the time of approving of acid rule and regu- lation, by aid Board of Public works, that the said office now maintained in the said cLty of Charleston, be discontinued. TO THE , PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON and TO ALL CONSUMERS OF' THE WATER SYSTEM: NOTICE IS HEREBY. GIVEN, that the City Commissioners of the City of Bremerton ha a passed and adopted a regulation requiring water users of . the entire system whether residents of Charleston or Bremerton or the unincorporated territory lying contiguous to Brem- erton snd Charleston, to pay all water bills and water charges at the City Hall in the city of Bremerton. 'The effect of this order is to change a pr4ctice of the City in permitting a portion of water users of the city o'' Charles- ton to pay at the Charleston City Hall. These two City Haile are only a fraction over ono mile apart. A majority of the citizens of Charleston prefer to psy at the city Hall in Bremerton, and in fact have been in the habit of paying at the Bremerton city Hall. The City of Bremerton hereby files this nottne with ynrr Honorable Board. The City has also. given wide publicity to the matter in the city of Cherlc:.aton. The city of Bremerton hereby respectfully prays for author- ity to make this .,light chun v in the method of stiater collection.
