SUIViMARY:
In 1978, the former Coontz Junior High site was named Kiwanis Playfield in recognition of the
Bremerton Kiwanis Club's contributions towazd developing the site for recreation use.
With ongoing assistance from the Kiwanis Club and additional grant sources, Kiwanis Playfield
will soon be improved with a picnic shelter, updated play area, walking paths, benches and landscape
beautification. In light of these planned improvements, a name change to Kiwanis Park is more
descriptive of the facilities current and future use. At their April 20`" meeting, the Bremerton Parks
and Recreation Commission voted unanimously to recommend the name change from Kiwanis
Pla�eld to Kiwanis Park.

I move to change the name Kiwanis Pla�eld to Kiwanis Pazk to more accurately recognize its
value to residents of the surrounding neighborhood.
