SUMMARY: The Public Works and Utilities Department applied for and was awarded a$3,000,000
grant for engineering and construction of pedestrian, bicycle and traffic safety improvements for
Pacific Avenue (6 to 11 �' Streets). The attached agreement obligates Federal grant dollars,
administered through the Washington Department of Transportation, to conduct preliminary
engineering at a cost of $452,400. Upon completion and approval of engineering plans another Local
Agency Agreement will be entered into for approximately $3,016,100.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The agreement is for $391,100 in Federal funds of
revenue which has been budgeted for in 2010. A local match of $61,100 is required and has been
