A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, authorizing the City to execute the Loca1
Agency Agreement for Pacific Avenue (from 6�' to l l Streets)
Improvement.
WHEREAS, the City applied for and was awarded a$3,000,000 grant for
engineering and construction of pedestrian, bicycle and street improvements on Pacific
Avenue (from 6�' to 11 �' Streets) in Bremerton; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Agreement obligates Federal Grant dollars,
administered through the Washington Department of Transportation, to conduct preliminary
engineering at a cost of $452,400; and
WHEREAS, as a condition to payment of the federal funds obligated, the
Department of Transportation requires that the City adopt a resolution stipulating that it accepts,
will provide a local match of $61,000 and will comply with the applicable provisions set forth in
the Local Agency Agreement, and
WHEREAS, upon completion and approval of engineering plans another Local
Agency Agreement will be entered into for approximately $3,016,000; NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of Bremerton desires to comply with a requirement by the
Department of Transportation to adopt a resolution stipulating that the City accepts and will
comply with the applicable provisions set forth in the Local Agency Agreement.
� SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Bremerton does hereby authorize
the City of Bremerton accept the Local Agency Agreement for Pacific Avenue (6 to 11 �'
Streets) and agrees to the $61,000 match.
SECTION 3. The Mayor is authorized to finalize and execute the Local Agency
Agreement for Pacific Avenue (6 to 11 �' Streets).
SECTION4. Severabilitv. If any one or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
