SUMMARY: This proposed ordinance increases the maximum vacation pay-out if furloughs,
reduced work schedules, or equivalent are implemented. When furloughs or reduced work schedules
are implemented, employees take additional time off without pay and without using their vacation
time. Consequently taking additional vacation time would impact staffing levels. In the event of
separation, this ordinance would allow up to an additiona140 hours of vacation pay-out.
