SUMMARY: The City of Bremerton, via letter to the Mayor dated January 27, 2010, has been
invited to submit a grant application for a program to address pedestrian and bicycle safety in a
selected area of Bremerton. The area identified for grant eligibility is SR303 between Sheridan Road
and RiddellRoad. This area has been identified due to its history of pedestrian and bicycle accidents
in the past five years. Funding is eligible for both construction related and/or programmatic
(education) related actions. Grant submittals are due May 10, 2010.
ATTACHMENTS: 1. Invitation to apply letter to Mayor Lent
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Matching funds are not required. No grant
maximum has been specified but a history of past grant awards appears to be approximately
$1,000,000.
