SUMMARY: A committee comprised of Council members Cecil McConnell and Adam Brockus as
well as Rob Ashmore, IAFF Local #437, Ken Bagwell, Assistant City Attorney, and A1 Duke have
been reviewing the question of whether the City of Bremerton should consider a plan to consolidate
its Fire Department with a local fire district. The Committee was presented with two plans. One from
South Kitsap Fire and Rescue and another from Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue. The Committee
wishes to present its recommendation to the City Council and ask for further direction.

feasibility of re-establishing the Regional Fire Authority.
